Parenting

 Mothers kindly be observant. Watch your children very well. What children of nowadays do and say is amazing. I have been observing my neighbours children when they are playing with my daughter. One would like hiding behind the door with my daughter. He doesn't like playing where and when I'm looking. He likes being out of my view. And I'm usually skeptical and uncomfortable about it. The way he plays, his choice of words, under the table, chairs etc. He will be whispering in my daughter's ears. I would call him what did you say to her. He won't talk. Sometimes, I ask my daughter what he said.

 You know you can't really decipher up on till you have something tangible to hold on to. Just this afternoon,  they hid behind the door, I heard my daughter said "I will not open my pants. My mummy will beat me if I open my pants." I had to call both of them and caution them. Then warned my daughter not play with him again. I've sent him to their shop. He is about four or five years old and my daughter is three years old. How do I tell the mother about it? Would she believe it? 

This is not fairy tale. It's just my observation and why I posted it is so other parents can learn from it. This just happened a while ago.

Investment

 Little drops of water makes an ocean. I learnt about shares, dividend and equities in "Business Studies" my JSS2. I was later taught about it Economic in SS2.I did not fully understand it then. But I read and pass the exams. 

In 2015, after my final exams in the University, I enrolled for Computer training at Contemporary Institute for Computer and Business Studies (CICBS) at Willington Basse Way, popularly known as Barracks road, Uyo. 

There, one of the teachers, Mr Ayo... (I've forgotten his name but I still have his memories in terms of looks, face and movement (walking style)...) He introduced us to buying stocks and being a shareholder in a company. He asked us "what do you do with your money? Putting it in a bank? Why not invest it in stocks? Buy shares, little by little. You'll be amazed how far it increase in the nearest future more than your savings."

I decided to take the chance. I made enquiry from him and he directed me to Kofana Securities at Oron by Udotung Ubo street, Uyo. I got there I think same day, made enquiry and got the form, filled it and submitted it. I bought my first stock that day for #1,000. I went back the next day and bought stocks worth #6,000. A year later, 2016 precisely, I invested 6,000. Making a total of #13,000. 

I decided to check it this year, the value is almost #40,000 excluding the little dividend I get based on my number of stocks or units.

It's good to save. But it's better to invest in a profitable business. Save to invest. But invest wisely.

Imagine if I had save the money in the bank. It would not have increased that much. I saved some amount of money for two years in a bank. The interest paid was not up to #2,000. The money was far greater than the money I invested in the stocks.

These days I hardly save money. What I do, I invest it into something fruitful.

I'm sharing this to encourage us to make investment no matter how little. I know for some people this is nothing because they have pass this level.

Facts About Marriage

    Ideally, Marriage is the legal union between an adult male and female. Though in today's world we hear of homosexuals. My focus here is on heterosexual. One man, one wife, one husband.

     Marriage changes our lifestyle, decisions and perspectives. If you must maintain a healthy family, you have to consider your family while making certain decisions.I think it's affects the woman most.

   As a man, you could comfortably live in a self contain apartment. But when you're married that becomes very small especially if you have children. The more the number of children, the larger the space you need. How about in laws and visitors? They have to be considered too. Your spending increases too. No more food for one. Mother and children will have to eat. Nappy or diapers and other toiletries. School fees if they are of school age etc.

     For the woman her career may be affected, pregnancy tantrums, child birth brings breaks in between (maternity leave), sleepless nights, the challenge of breastfeeding for those who wants to go through it etc. I think the whole concept of marriage is underrated. You don't get to know the full details up on till you're in. Know fast and run rules. Each family operates differently based on their exposure, knowledge, values, etc.
