Ideally, Marriage is the legal union between an adult male and female. Though in today's world we hear of homosexuals. My focus here is on heterosexual. One man, one wife, one husband.
Marriage changes our lifestyle, decisions and perspectives. If you must maintain a healthy family, you have to consider your family while making certain decisions.I think it's affects the woman most.
As a man, you could comfortably live in a self contain apartment. But when you're married that becomes very small especially if you have children. The more the number of children, the larger the space you need. How about in laws and visitors? They have to be considered too. Your spending increases too. No more food for one. Mother and children will have to eat. Nappy or diapers and other toiletries. School fees if they are of school age etc.
For the woman her career may be affected, pregnancy tantrums, child birth brings breaks in between (maternity leave), sleepless nights, the challenge of breastfeeding for those who wants to go through it etc. I think the whole concept of marriage is underrated. You don't get to know the full details up on till you're in. Know fast and run rules. Each family operates differently based on their exposure, knowledge, values, etc.
